New Strategies, Smart Budgeting, and World-Class Governance
Pekanbaru, February 25, 2025 – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Riau held its 2026 Planning and Budgeting Work Meeting under the theme “Enhancing Institutional Governance through Digital Transformation.” The event took place at the Tourism Business Study Program Laboratory from 08:00 to 16:00 WIB.
The meeting was attended by Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A.; Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si.; Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, Dr. Saiman Pakpahan, S.IP., M.Si.; Senate Chair/Secretary; Heads and Secretaries of Departments; Heads of Undergraduate, Master's, and Doctoral Programs; Head of the FISIP Branch Library; Chair of the FISIP Quality Assurance Unit (SPMF); Head of Laboratories; Head of the FISIP Public Information and Documentation Management (PPID); Head of the MBKM Acceleration Team; Head of the International Accreditation Acceleration Team; Administration Coordinator; Sub-Coordinators within FISIP; BPP FISIP; and PPK FISIP.
Dean of FISIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized the importance of enhancing digital-based institutional governance as a strategic step in academic management and budget efficiency.
"In this digital era, we are required to be more adaptive and innovative. This work meeting serves as a momentum for us to evaluate achievements, develop better strategies, and ensure that FISIP Universitas Riau excels in institutional governance," said Dr. Meyzi.

The Rector of Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., represented by Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mexsasai Indra, S.H., M.H., also delivered remarks and officially opened the work meeting.
"Universitas Riau remains committed to improving academic quality and institutional governance. Digital transformation is a crucial step we must undertake together to make education, research, and community service more effective and efficient," said Dr. Mexsasai.

FISIP Universitas Riau also strengthened its commitment to vulnerable groups by signing a strategic cooperation agreement with Yayasan Insan Berguna Nusantara (IBNU), a foundation dedicated to empowering and supporting the independence of people with disabilities. IBNU's vision includes fostering self-confidence, noble character, and enhancing competencies to ensure equal opportunities and social inclusion, ultimately improving the quality of life for the disabled community.

As part of the agenda, the work meeting featured Mr. Novan Aulia Rohman, S.Kom., M.M., from Universitas Jember, as the keynote speaker. In his presentation, Novan provided insights into the importance of implementing digital technology in institutional governance, particularly in planning and budgeting within higher education institutions.
"Digital transformation is not just about using technology but also about changing mindsets and work patterns to become more efficient, transparent, and results-oriented," Novan explained.


Following the keynote session, the meeting continued with an evaluation of study program performance in 2024 and the establishment of performance targets for 2025. An interactive discussion on budget allocation strategies was also a key part of the agenda, ensuring the effective use of funds to support the faculty’s academic and operational targets.
With the successful execution of this work meeting, FISIP Universitas Riau aims to further develop adaptive institutional governance that keeps pace with modern advancements and enhances its academic competitiveness at both national and international levels.(RIRY)
